Registration: On the spot during Mood Indigo ’08. The competition is open only to college students with a valid college I-card.
Team Size: 2
Written Eliminations: The participant will be required to cover the topic from many different perspectives and angles, bringing out various sides of the argument and presenting it in the form of an essay.
For example, if you are given the topic of reservation, then it is advisable that you write for and against the topic, from the perspectives of a politician, student, professor or even a corporate personality separately.
Time Limit: 2 hours
Semi-Finals: From the eliminations, 12 teams will be chosen for the finals where the teams will indulge in a group discussion. The topic for the semi-finals will be provided on the spot.
Finals: From the semi-finals, 6 teams will be chosen for finals. The finalists will indulge in a group discussion in news room studio style.
• Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
• The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Judging Criteria:
Eliminations: Thought process (clarity and rationality)—whether all perspectives of the topic have been covered, Command over Hindi, Overall impact
Semi-Finals & Finals: Fluency in speaking, Quality of language used, Spontaneity and Confidence, Clarity of thought, Overall impact
