Some things are ageless and classical dance is one of them. We at Mood Indigo are looking for that perfect combination of beauty, grace and elegance, a stellar classical performance that compels everyone to hold their breath. Come, witness divinity in its oldest form.
The Bottom Line: Participants may perform any classical dance item with the correct balance between nritta (footwork) and abhinaya (expressions).

Category C
Registration: On the spot during Mood Indigo ’08. The competition is open only to college students with a valid college I-card.
Team Size : Solo + 1 CA (if required)
Eliminations:
Participants perform any classical dance item with the correct blend of facial expression and footwork.
Time Limit : 4 - 6 minutes (including setup and clearance time)
Finals:
Round 1: Each finalist performs any classical dance item with the correct blend of facial expression and footwork.
Time Limit : 6 - 8 minutes (including setup and clearance time)
Round 2: Prior to start of the finals, each finalist will be given a track of duration 2 minutes and the participant has to choreograph and perform on that track. Facilities to listen to the music and a venue to practice for 3 hours prior to the finals will be provided to the finalists.
• Pre-recorded music should be brought in a CD/DVD or a pen drive in .cda or .mp3 format only. (Other formats may not be supported on the computer – use them at your own risk)
• Live music is not allowed.
• Any kind of fluid or flame is not allowed on stage.
• Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
• The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Judging Criteria: Facial expressions and body language, Footwork, Hand and eye movements, Costume and presentation, Choreography (technical nuances), Overall clarity and impact. For Round 2 of the Finals, spontaneity and effective use of the song given will also be added judging criteria.
Prizes
First Prize: 5,000 INR
Second Prize: 3,000 INR
Third Prize: 2,000 INR
